Recursive Writing Sheet

When I first begin reading a text, I will first go through and read the text and then I will go through and highlight the main points, rewrite confusing sentences, and pick out important quotes that could be used in my paper. Once I have read all the readings that are necessary for my paper, I will write an outline out for each paragraph and add the quotes that I want to use for each paragraph. Once I have my outline, I will begin to write my free draft and won’t hold back on writing anything down. Once I have my free draft, I will begin to edit using my peer’s comments. I will reorganize my paper, add and remove quotes or sentences, and double-check the work count. Lastly, I will check my grammar, write a title, and reread one last time.

I will continue using this recursive writing process for many years. As long as I am in school, or have a job where I will need to write well-written texts, I will use this. It will help me the most in my future college classes because I will be able to write well-written papers for any topic. I am glad that I took English 110 the first semester of my college career because I now will have these writing tools for the next 4 years of college.
